Jefferson was the captain of a ship that was shipwrecked in Calabria in 1871, found shelter at Giocondo's at the Old Customs Warehouse, and made what was called by him an Important Bitter, this has been adapted and transformed to make it excellent in our day. Ideal served chilled or on the rocks, surprising in blending as a bitter or in support of vermouths. Recognized in 2018 as the world's best liqueur at the World Liqueur Awards.
