Earth Lovers.
Small Habits, Big Changes.
Nature and Culture, not in opposition but allies. We want to dedicate to our planet alle the positive actions we can take, in order to discover what connects us to the Earth, what makes us its allies and protectors.

Earth Lovers is the Rinascente project that gives space to brands, products and capsule collections that focus on environmental and social responsibility.
Small habits, because every tiny gesture can make a decisive difference in the long term, leading to big changes: whether in fashion, accessories and design, or in the everyday objects you use and surround yourself with.
Product
Start with what you wear every day: support brands that choose innovative, eco-certified and recyclable materials, such as Melissa, which uses recycled PVC for its strictly vegan footwear, Nanushka, which uses only vegan leather, or Soulland, which uses OekoTex-certified polyester.

Natural fibres can also be used in a conscious way. Vitelli has created the Doomboh fabric, made from yarn waste from knitting mills in the Veneto region and then needle-punched together, while Artknit has decided to select and use only natural fibres with high renewable potential.

As well as being responsible, the practice of upcycling, at the heart of Overlord, is also on trend: the aim is to give a second life to existing garments, making the most of them and avoiding the need to produce new ones. Since 1979, Surplus, the historic Milanese shop in Via Garibaldi (a few steps from the Brera Art Gallery) and now also on the first floor of ANNEX, has been dealing with vintage clothes.

Your beauty routine can also be conscious: from Antipodes, whose raw materials are tracked and verified, to Honieh Beauty, whose products are vegan, natural and organic, to brands that use responsible and easily recyclable packaging.

Supernovas has decided to think about the future of its products: all items are mono-material and therefore completely recyclable, and they can also be returned to the brand or exchanged, to avoid the possibility of them becoming waste. From Hay's reusable glass straws to Vitra's totally recyclable Toolbox holder, it is, above all, the attention to everyday objects that can turn us into Earth Lovers.
People
Attention to the welfare and the rights of workers, particularly those in the textile industry, and the craft heritage of indigenous communities is at the heart of new actions taken by many brands.

Some of Obey's products are Fair Trade Certified™, which means that every time you buy them, a percentage is paid directly into a special fund for the workers who made the garment, which can be used for the needs of their community. This makes you a conscious consumer, who is also aware of the positive impact you can have on the people making your clothes.

Who Made My Clothes has become, more and more, a question that not only activists but also consumers are increasingly asking brands: Mochila and Bohemia Couture would know exactly how to answer. The first brand entrusts the production of its bags to the women of the Wayuu tribe in Colombia, where this particular cotton processing is handed down from mother to daughter. Bohemia Couture's garments, on the other hand, are produced by small workshops or individual artisans in India, with whom Bohemia Couture signs fair labour agreements to guarantee and maintain a long-term working and human relationship: slow is better when it comes to fashion.
Process
Protecting our planet means adopting environmentally responsible production processes.

From the bleaching of jeans to the tanning of leather, the use of chemicals that are potentially toxic to humans and certainly to the environment must be drastically reduced and replaced with equally effective, but responsible and non-damaging alternatives.

Denim, one of the most durable and resistant materials, is also one of the most expensive to make. To create just one pair of jeans, in fact, up to 10,000 litres of water are needed (source: Ansa.it): this is why large and small denim brands are increasingly adopting new technologies and procedures to minimise water consumption, such as Levi's with the WaterTomorrow Denim which reuses water several times, and prefer upcycling whenever possible, like the Milanese brand AJPJ.
Planet
The richness and diversity of our planet's flora and fauna must be protected in every way.

A capsule collection that does good: for every Eye/Loewe/Nature SS21 product sold, Loewe supports the Fundación Global Nature, which works to create semi-natural habitats for endangered species and operates in Latin America, Asia and Spain, the home of Loewe.

Founded in Milan, THEMOIRè has always had a global focus: the commitment to creating an ethical and eco-friendly brand with the lowest environmental impact goes hand in hand with the desire to protect nature in all its forms. From the labels on the bags made of recycled paper to the recycled materials for the shipping packaging, to the donation of parts of the proceeds to non-profit organisations such as Tree Nation, which works to plant trees and restore forest areas.
